Bennu Amen, Program Manager, Fellowships & Research
Bennu Amen is a cross-sector innovator dedicated to advancing tech-driven solutions for societal impact, and is actively re-imagining a new AI-driven world. As Program Manager for Fellowships & Research at Tech:NYC, Bennu leads programming and the design and delivery of the Grid Fellowship — Tech:NYC's flagship civic fellowship for senior tech leaders. She oversees the full arc of the nine-month program, from cohort recruitment and selection infrastructure to anchor day event operations, partner engagement workflows, and program design documentation. Her work bridges New York City's tech and civic ecosystems, connecting founders, operators, and executives to the city systems and institutions that shape public life.
With a background in public policy and economic development, Bennu previously drove research and innovation initiatives as Manager for Policy and Research at Tech:NYC, and prior to that served as a Project Manager for Strategic Engagement and Partnerships at NYCEDC, where she designed strategies that fostered business growth, increased industry engagement, and uplifted vulnerable communities. Her career began in government affairs and civil rights advocacy, championing anti-poverty initiatives, voting rights, and media-technology equity with the Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights.
Bennu currently sits on the ABNY Young Professional Steering Committee. She holds a Master's in Public Policy and Public Administration from American University and a B.A. from New York University.
