New York’s tech industry has an outsized impact on New York City. With more than 200,000 tech jobs across the five boroughs, NYC’s tech workforce represents 41% of the city’s net job growth since 2019. The city is also the second-largest and second-most valuable tech hub in the world, and a leading global hub for AI.

While Tech:NYC works to ensure that New York remains the best place to build and grow a tech company, we also are committed to ensuring that the tech sector serves New York and everyday New Yorkers. The Grid Fellowship is the latest in this effort – Tech:NYC’s inaugural civic fellowship, designed to prepare the next generation of tech leaders, committed to using their strengths to build a better New York. Through a nine-month immersive experience, the program will expose senior leaders — founders, operators, and C-suite executives — to the systems and civic actors that power the five boroughs.

The goal of the Grid Fellowship is simple: To create a pipeline of leaders who understand the operations of the world’s greatest city and equip them with the networks and knowledge to build a better New York.
