Tech:NYC Foundation

The Tech:NYC Foundation serves as the social impact engine of our tech ecosystem.

By connecting member companies to community needs, the Foundation empowers them to become civic leaders and make New York City a better place to live and work.

Through initiatives in education, workforce development, and volunteering, the Foundation leverages tech expertise and resources to address key challenges such as digital inequality, career readiness, and community support.

Together, the Foundation and its members drive meaningful change, ensuring New York remains a vibrant and inclusive hub for innovation and growth.

Decoded Futures


  • A bridge-building initiative that equips nonprofits with AI tools to tackle NYC’s toughest challenges. 

  • With more than 46,000 nonprofits in New York City, the sector plays an outsized role in supporting the city’s teachers, students, and workers.

Grid Fellowship


The Grid Fellowship brings NYC’s top tech leaders into the heart of civic life, connecting founders, operators, and executives with the systems that keep the city moving.

  • Over nine months, Grid Fellows gain behind-the-scenes access to City Hall, public infrastructure, and community leaders, building the civic fluency needed to shape New York’s future.

  • The Grid Fellowship is focused on building a trusted peer network of leaders committed to using tech’s influence to strengthen and serve New York City.

Computer Science (CS) Fair


  • An annual talent pipeline event at which 2,000+ public high school students explore tech careers, hosted by tech companies and nonprofits.

  • This is the largest CS fair for public high school students in the United States.

Future Ready NYC


  • A transformative micro-internship program offering NYC public high school students hands-on career exploration in high-growth fields.

  • As a partner of the Future Ready program, the Tech:NYC Foundation placed 1,000+ students over two years into micro-internships with tech employers.

Community Support & Holiday Giving


  • Our annual collaboration with members, elected officials, and local nonprofits to support vulnerable New Yorkers in need with food and other essential resources during the holidays.

NYC Startup Internship Program


  • A 10-week program that connects talented NYC undergraduates with NYC-based startups, creating pathways to tech careers while supporting the growth of NYC's innovation ecosystem. 

  • Since 2022, 166 NYC students received paid internships at 84 startups, and 36% of students continued working with the host startup after the conclusion of the program.

  • Presented in partnership with NYCEDC, Blackstone LaunchPad, Company Ventures, Justworks, The City University of New York (CUNY), and the Zahn Innovation Center.
