Scott Birnbaum is a French-American entrepreneur and venture capitalist, and the Founder and Managing Partner of Red Sea Ventures. With 20+ years in technology and innovation, he’s become a strong force in the U.S. and European startup ecosystems.
At Red Sea Ventures, Scott invests in early-stage consumer and enterprise companies, backing standout brands including Allbirds (IPO), Sweetgreen (IPO), Nest (acq. Google), Prose, CaseText, and Novo Bank. He’s deeply embedded in New York’s startup community, mentoring founders and speaking frequently on entrepreneurship, innovation, and technology at programs hosted by Columbia, Princeton, UPenn, and Georgetown.
Before Red Sea Ventures, Scott co-founded Epok, a collaboration and data-sharing platform for Intelligence and Law Enforcement, practiced M&A and Project Finance at White & Case, and led Strategy, Business Development, and Partnerships at CBS Local. He also serves on the board of Seeds of Peace, is a founding member of its Young Leadership Committee, and is a recipient of the Young Peacemaker Award for his leadership and service.
Scott grew up in Paris and holds degrees from Georgetown University and Fordham Law School.
