Tech:NYC’s Statement on 2026 Midterm Elections

November 4, 2026

Tech:NYC issued the following statement after the 2026 midterm elections:

“The results of yesterday’s election left no doubt that Americans nationwide are hungry for change. It also left no doubt that New York is at the center of the American political universe.

Tech:NYC congratulates Governor Kathy Hochul and Attorney General Letitia James on their resounding re-elections, and Senator Schumer for leading the Democrats to a Senate majority and Representative Hakeem Jeffries for doing the same in the House. We look forward to having a Senate Majority Leader and a Speaker of the House who both hail from Brooklyn fighting for us and with us in D.C.

We also congratulate New York’s newly elected and returning state lawmakers.

These leaders will shape tech policy not just in New York, but also across the country and around the world. And they’ll do it from a place where tech is now woven into everyday life and the economy: New York has more tech jobs than the Bay Area, and the industries that call it home are rapidly embracing new technology.

In the months and years ahead, the critical discussions around how we use and govern technology will happen in New York, and we look forward to working with our elected leaders to chart a safe, effective, and prosperous path forward for our whole country.”
