Michal Katz is a business leader, public speaker and advocate for the advancement of women. Her successful career in Financial Services led to her role as co-head of the Technology Investment Banking Group at RBC Capital Markets, where she has also taken leadership roles as a member of the Regional Operating Committee US and the Intermediate Holding Company, a regulatory body overseeing strategy execution with effective governance across all Capital Markets’ businesses. Michal also serves on the firm’s Innovation Council tasked with advancing the firm’s global businesses with new technologies, strategic partnerships and investments to drive disruption and “out of the box” thinking.
In her operating role at RBC capital markets, Michal acts as an advisor to corporations, boards and financial sponsors in developing and executing corporate finance and M&A strategies. Deep technology sector domain expertise and connectivity with the ecosystem, Michal provides differentiated insights and perspectives on Digital Transformation across industries.
Michal’s career spans 20+ years on Wall Street. Prior to joining RBC in 2013, Michal was a Managing Director with Barclays (formerly, Lehman Brothers) where she was global head of Software Investment Banking. Prior to that, Michal spent several years with the law firms of Skadden, Arps and Winthrop Stimson (now Pillsbury Winthrop), where she practiced corporate law.
Michal is also a community leader with a history of not-for-profit board service. Due to her passion for music and the arts, Michal serves as Trustee and Chair of the Finance Committee of the GRAMMY Museum, an organization dedicated to cultivating a greater understanding of music’s role in American culture.
Michal received her BA with honors from the State University of New York at Binghamton, and JD from New York University School of Law.
Splitting her time between Silicon Valley and Alley, Michal resides in NY with her husband and has two children in college.
